How do you actually upskill when you're too busy designing

Upskilling question for the freelance designers out there: How are you actually making time for it?

I’m supposed to be learning the latest design systems, AI workflows and ux trends but my current strategy consists of saving articles to read ‘later’, and starting online courses, only to feel personally attacked by the ‘you haven’t logged in for 27 days’ emails.

The internet keeps insisting I should just dedicate 20 minutes a day, but I seem to be using those 20 minutes to figure out why Outlook is being weird again or trying to make sure everything actually ‘works on mobile’.

What’s the solution? A job lot of caffeine and enthusiasm… or is there a system that works long-term?

All this was circling my mind while I watched my dog having his morning dip… blissfully unburdened by anything except locating his ball.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ #bless
